Themed exhibition in the Reading room - March 2025

Music accompanies us everywhere - when we get up, drive, cook or jog. We listen to it on the radio, smartphone or record player, with or without a video track, at concerts, parties or simply at home. It moves us emotionally and physically, alone or with others, and connects us with like-minded people.
In March, the themed exhibition in the Reading room is focused on pop and rock music. Pop music originated in the mid-1950s in the USA and Great Britain and stands for catchy, popular sounds. Rock music developed from the rock ‘n’ roll of the 1950s and mixed with beat and blues. Many rock and pop genres are closely linked to youth cultures.
